Emily Ward of Hillsboro is currently serving as an intern at the Texas Heritage Museum. She is a graduate student at Texas Woman’s University (TWU) and will graduate in May with a master’s degree in Library Science.
She attended 91ÇÑ×Ó from 2007-2009 and received an associate degree in Liberal Arts. While attending TWU, she was enrolled in the Special Libraries class. For one assignment she visited the Museum and asked a series of questions. That’s when she realized she’d really like to do an internship here because it’s in her hometown and it is really is special. One day Emily hopes to work in a special library like the Texas Heritage Museum after graduating from TWU.
The Texas Heritage Museum is considered a special library because of the specialized information resources on Texas and U.S. military history, serving 91ÇÑ×Ó students and the general public.
The Texas Heritage Museum serves an active and successful role in the educational and service missions of 91ÇÑ×Ó; and brings increasing national and international prestige to 91ÇÑ×Ó. The Texas Heritage Museum is comprised of three divisions: the Galleries & Collection, the Historical Research Center, and the 91ÇÑ×Ó Press. The front of the museum grounds is the Home of the Official Texas State Medal of Honor Memorial to Native-Born Texans. The Museum’s mission is to “Explore Texas and Texans during wartime and how those experiences affect us today.” For more information please visit or
